Charles (Chuck) W. Poss III – President & Chief Executive Officer
With over 30 years of experience in the general engineering construction industry, Chuck formed Earth Construction & Mining in 1992 to address specific needs for industry customers that were not being met. Previously Chuck was the Operations Manager/Chief Estimator for one of the largest general engineering contractors in California. He has a Bachelor of Science – Engineering (Construction) from Purdue University and is a past president of the Southern California Contractors Association (SCCA). He is currently on the Board of Directors for the SCCA and also serves as a Director for the Construction Industry Coalition on Water Quality. Chuck is a Trustee for the Construction Industry Advancement Fund, the Operating Engineers Training Trust and is a Co-Chair of the Laborer’s Training and Retraining Trust.


Charles (Chuck) T. Bean – Executive Director
Chuck joined ECM in 2004 as their Drilling and Blasting Operations Manager. With over 40 years of experience with explosives applications, Chuck has seen it all. He has worked on projects from Alaska down to Mexico and from Pennsylvania to Hawaii. His accomplishments include not only drilling and blasting for a whole array of civil engineering, demolition, pipeline construction and mining quarry sites, but also research & development, geotechnical exploration & evaluation, public relations & regulatory oversight, site-specific blast design & engineering, and consulting projects. This wide range of experience includes several hundred million cubic yards of blasted rock for major construction and mining consortiums to a couple of grams of explosive material on a national security project for the DARPA division of the United States Department of Defense. Chuck is a past officer of the Southwest Chapter of the International Society of Explosive Engineers. Chuck is also a licensed General Engineering Contractor and the Co-Chairman of the Construction laborers joint Apprenticeship Sub-Committee.

Roderick (Rod) J. Meyer – Vice President of Field Operations
Rod is responsible for the day-to-day operations at the project sites. He joined ECM in 2005. Rod became an Operating Engineer over 30 years ago working for some of the largest general engineering contractors in California. He is directly responsible for supervising all construction schedules, including subcontractor coordination and equipment and manpower utilization for the entire company. Rod started his career as a laborer on asphalt paving and grading crews, so you can really say that Rod gained his knowledge of engineering projects from the ground up.
